NH Second Shooter | Boston Wedding Photography

This fall I had the exquisite pleasure of assisting Meg McGovern Hamilton of Rodeo & Co at the absolutely charming wedding of Keli and Maggie in Jamaica Plain.  Keli and Maggie were absolutely radiant and so fun to be around and their details for their wedding were out of the park!  They had a green apple look going, very appropriate for the fall, with baskets of green apples as decorations and very very cute headbands and ties made from a coordinating green apple fabric.  But probably the coolest thing was the silver Vespa they rode in and out on.  It was so great to share in their special day with them, their friends and their family!  I wish them much love, happiness and joy in their future together!!!

Thanks as always to Meg McGovern Hamilton – I loved working beside you and you always teach me so much!  Check out Meg’s images from the day here on her blog!

NH Photography | Lighting Workshop with Carla Ten Eyck

I had the opportunity to attend another workshop by the sensational Carla Ten Eyck of Carla Ten Eyck Photography in Connecticut.  I first met Carla at her posing workshop which I wrote about here.  Not only was she as wild and crazy as last time (seriously – attend a workshop or hear her speak – engaging is an understatement), and have just as valuable information this go around – she really instilled in me a sense of comfort when shooting in less than gorgeous places.  Everything we shot was in her basment…YES A BASEMENT!  With all the indoor plumbing going on, cords, fiberglass insulation, dirt you name it!  I have to admit when I first saw it I was less than thrilled (I kind of have a basement and attic phobia) but the results are GORGEOUS.  We discussed all sorts of ways to see and use light from ambient light through on and off camera flash.  This really solidified for me the desire to shoot a lot more off camera flash work (be on the lookout for a casting call in the future!).  Our model was the smolderingly beautiful Jasmine Balgobin of who works with Carla and the crew at the studio.  She seriously could not have been a better model, especially since she fought through the pain of the gorgeous gold sparkly shoes she wore the whole shoot.  I wish I could wear shoes like that…maybe I don’t need my heels or all ten toes…

Big thanks as always go to the crew at the studio especially Dominique (who is always so helpful even when I’m incessantly emailing), Rebecca (who I believe did Jasmine’s makeup) and Julie (who I believe made the awesome tortilla soup we had for dinner)!  Check out the results below!

Catching Up! | New Hampshire Child Photographer

End of year wrap up coming soon, but before that I wanted to share some images that have been waiting to be blogged!

First we have my little buddy R.  His Mom and Dad wanted to do a Christmas-y session to get some pictures for their holiday cards (which is why I waited to post until after everyone got them – no one wants to ruin the surprise of the card!) They also wanted to get some pictures in his hanbok, a beautiful and traditional South Korean outfit.  R was a little hesitant with me at first, but we bonded over Red from Cars (lucky me for having a boy who watches it twice a day everyday – I’m well versed in the characters of Cars) and beating up on a poinsettia plant (sorry Mom!).  Pretty soon he was all smiles and hamming it up for the camera!

Next up…some fun shots from my posing workshop with Carla Ten Eyck…stay tuned!
