Vacation!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.  Starting tomorrow morning, I’ll be away on vacation and will return August 1st.  I’ll still be available over email but it may take a little additional time to hear back from me. I plan to check in nightly for any session inquires or questions that may pop up.

I have a few days open for sessions in August and maybe one or two in September…which looks to be a super busy month.  If you are a 2012 Senior and are wanting to get your senior photos done with a summery or fall feel – make sure you contact me soon so we can put it in the datebook.  Same goes if you are looking for a family session with a fall feel (maybe for your holiday cards?).  Those leaves are gonna turn before we know it!

Cherrio mates!  I’ll check in from Blighty after I sit down with a cuppa.

Props to you if you understood that and know where I’m going.  Also props to my friends over there for remaining my friends after  I totally just stereotyped the crap outta their homeland 🙂

Western MA Photography | Weekend Fun!

And just like that another amazing weekend has flown by – hope everyone was able to catch at least a taste of it!  We were busy at the annual Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival in Florence/Northampton, MA on Saturday.  It’s an all day event held every year at Look Park  (which is a place I love to hold photo sessions!) filled with men in kilts, piping bands, Highland dancing, athletic competitions and Celtic music.  There’s also a Celtic Pub where I volunteered for the second year to pour for a local brewery.  Oh and there’s also haggis – the band Enter the Haggis – as well as the dish of unknown/unmentionable ingredients.  I don’t suggest you eat either.

Don’t Google it.  Trust me on this.  You’ll thank me later.  But *do* Google the band.  They are like Celtic Rock gods.  And they’ve been on Regis and Kelly.  So they’re kinda awesome rock stars in general.  I’ll stop fawning over them now, lest they think I am some creepy stalker girl.  Which I totally am.

The weather was great (and HOT!) up here in the Northeast, so we spent the last part of the weekend hanging with our family around the pool.  I even introduced my aunt to her first s’more.  My munchkin man, Adam, had a blast swimming and even more hamming it up for the camera!

Here’s to more s’mores, swimming and sunny weekends!!!  What did you do this past weekend?

Pioneer Valley Photographer | Ten Eyck Tuesdays Posing Workshop

Back in May I had the opportunity to take an amazing workshop in CT with the incredible Carla Ten Eyck.  I first saw Carla’s lovely work when a high school friend posted some engagement photos she had done.  I started blog stalking her after that, finding myself only slightly this side of creeper status.  When I saw that Carla was offering a workshop I jumped all over it like a trampoline.

The workshop itself was all about posing – and believe me Carla knows her stuff!  I came out of there with so many tools and tricks that I am using every time I shoot.  Our models were Tori and Jared – who are outrageously gorgeous and belong in magazines.  Seriously though they were superstars for all of us, and I really felt like I won the lottery being able to shoot them.  With my camera.  And not a gun.

Catie Bane of Dana Bartone and Company did a fantabulous job with hair and makeup…I am so envious of her incredible job on Tori’s eye makeup.  I need to go see her at some point I think.

Big props to Carla and the crew at Carla Ten Eyck Photography for making us all feel so welcome (and Carla’s husband Dave for the insanely amazing food that I still have dreams about!).  And a huge shout out to the other ladies who took the workshop – Meg, Abbey, Mattie and Marge!  It was a pleasure to shoot alongside you all!!!

Springfield, MA Maternity Shoot | Paula

A few weeks ago I had the awesome privilege of photographing Paula, an amazing mama-to-be!  She wanted to surprise this lucky little guy’s father with some images of this special time in their lives.  Paula just emitted this luminance and I can tell she was very excited to meet her little one.  Max was born June 23rd and is just the light of his parent’s lives!

Congratulations Paula and Alex!!!
