It’s Not You, It’s Me…

You may have noticed the blog being a little bit neglected lately.  I promise it’s not you, it’s me…you see that wonderful, beautiful, fascinating miracle that I showed off in my last post has turned out to be a wonderful, beautiful, fascinating, diaper dirtying, sleep avoiding, trouble finding, 9 month old boy.

Oh sure, he may look cute – but most of the time I find him like this

One thing’s for certain.  He has a taste for photography already.

But he’s already got his brother’s attitude towards getting his picture taken!

I’ve got lots of sessions to share with you in the next few weeks and some great new announcements and offerings!  But first I want to let you know of a fantastic opportunity to get a couple cute pictures of your kids in their Halloween costumes – and all for a good cause!  I will be on site at Jump ‘N Joy in Laconia, this Saturday and Sunday October 26th and 27th, during their Halloween Costume Parties to offer some “Click or Treat” Express sessions to benefit the WLNH Children’s Auction!  $25 gets you a 10 minute session with me and your child in costume, 2 digital photos, a facebook timeline cover and a digital card!  I’m really looking forward to this awesome event and hope to see lots of you there.  Contact me to set up a time and check out the banner below for more information!  Thanks in advance to Sunday of Jump ‘N Joy LLC for allowing me to use her location to shoot at!

Introducing a New Little Bundle | NH Lakes Region Newborn Photographer

It’s been kinda quiet around here lately.  Well…on the blog.  Our house is a whole different matter because we’ve had a pretty vocal addition.

Introducing Connor Matthew Hough, born late January at 11 lbs even (yes you read that right) and 21 3/4 inches!
I just love those little lashes!I just want to eat those little tootsies!Big brother is a big fan of his new buddy – even if he pees on him, which is what happened two seconds after this capture! This face is the only thing that keeps me sane after the endless bouts of sleeplessness.  Oh my goodness those cheeks and lashes and lips and nose!  There is a reason they come out cute for sure!!!I did luck out by having a winter baby…it has allowed me to take an extended maternity leave which I am loving.  However I am returning from maternity leave in early April and am already taking bookings.  Get in touch if you want to schedule your family or children’s photo for this spring!  Also, I’m excited to hopefully announce soon a new offering…but more details on that later!  All good things to those who wait 🙂

First Day of Preschool

We finally found a fantastic preschool program for Adam, and I’m happy to say he is loving it and thriving!  Just wanted to share some quick captures from his first day (he’s now been going for a few weeks, but things have been a bit crazy getting the house and family ready for our new little addition!).

Oh yeah…he’s excited!

He’s been loving school, but what has him very excited is finding out that his baby brother will be making his debut this Wednesday!  I can’t wait to share our new addition with you.  I will be taking some time off from shooting after the arrival of Baby Hough, but am starting to book into spring so make sure to contact me soon to secure a date for your photo session!

Baby It’s Cold Outside! | Lakes Region Child and Family Photographer

I had the extreme pleasure of meeting up with this gorgeous family and capturing some seasonal and family photos in Laconia, NH recently.  But boy was it COLD out!  Brother and sister (and mom and dad) were all troopers though and we got through it.  I’m so happy to say that my most recent sessions have resulted in some of my favorite pictures to date – which can only mean great things for my upcoming sessions!

I met Mom a few months ago, and she has been one of the most welcoming, warm and fun people I have had the joy of meeting and befriending since we moved.  And come to find out, our dad’s are friends from WAAAAY back…small world!
Can I just say how much I am in love with this guy…he reminds me of the little boy from Jerry Maguire so much!“Did you know bees can smell fear?”The cuteness…it was keeping me nice and warm that day!!!She made me work for those smiles for sure, but once we got going we she had loads of them to share!Sigh…I love, love.Another one of those images that is just so genuine and peaceful that I never want to take off my screen.
Of course we have to play during a photo session.  No one likes all stuffy posed shots!  She completely melted me when I caught this…
Boys will be boys, but I just love that he was being himself and playing with me.  So much fun.Nothing like secrets between brother and sister…and then a sneaky kiss!We decided to call it a day just in time as the wind started picking up!

We got some absolutely beautiful images and this family was just so fun to collaborate with.  Can you imagine how fun it would have been if we had some mugs of hot chocolate on hand to warm up?  I’d love to do a hot cocoa session with a fun family some time!
